My new job as a math coach is going well! I have been in almost every classroom in both of my buildings and am working hard to build relationships with the teachers and staff. I attended a great PD session on Math Talk last week and created these cards to use to get students to ask questions of their peers. There are many ways you could use them, but here's what I'm planning on doing during some demonstration lessons I have coming up....have each child draw one at the start of the lesson and they will then use it at some point during the math lesson. This will get the students talking about math and justifying their answers which will lead to a deeper understanding of the concepts. I can't wait to try them out! I also plan to leave them for the teachers when I leave so they will be able to incorporate this themselves.

I wanted to add another resource onto this post...these are bookmarks with the questions that would be great for the intermediate students. They can have them in their textbooks and then the questions will be right at their fingertips!
